Perseverance is NASA‘s latest Mars rover and part of their Mars Exploration Program. The rover is now attached to the Atlas V 541 rocket which is going to launch on July 30, 2020 from SLC-41, Cape Canaveral. Voyager 1 and 2 were also launched from this launchpad but since 2002 it was mainly used for ULA Atlas V launches.
If they use the launch window on July 30, 2020, Perseverance is going to land on the red planet on February 18, 2021 in the Jezero Crater.
The Perseverance rover will seek signs of ancient life and collect rock and soil samples for possible return to Earth.
